Yesterday, I received an intriguing application request from someone who wants to start selling digital products on Etsy/Social media...
And I'm so glad he did because he could have lost tons of weeks/months of work, and money - by not going in the right direction.
Tom applied to get his 30k+ personalised business plan done from me, and because it is on application, he had to apply first before we could potentially work together.
On his form, he shared that he was looking to create a passive income from building a brand and business. He said that his wife and he are looking to do this together by selling digital products online. (amazing to do this as a couple, as a team)
In the form, he said that he didn't know what niche to go for but some of the ideas he has would be 'templates' (organisers, calendars, resumes etc.), ebooks on financial advice, etc...
This is where everything starts. This stage could break or make your entire business.
YOUR NICHE.
I'm really happy I crossed his path because I know his personalised plan will bring all the clarity he needs right now... with all the steps and the right tasks to work on and implement from the very beginning.
The first thing he will do next, once he signs-up, will be to answer a form.
A self-assessment form.
I will take him through simple but in-depth questions regarding:
- who he is
- what he loves to talk about
- what he loves to give advice about
- what topic he masters a bit more than others
- his past experience/skillset
- struggles he went through etc...
And I will automatically find out what problem he can solve, and how he can help others from these answers.
And build a business around it.
What you already know, the tips that you always share, the topic you always love to talk about isn't ONLY the reason you start a business.
BUT
It is the reason you stay with it.
Every day.
We ALL have something to share.
Something we overcame.
Something we love that we can't stop sharing to others.
A topic that we love to give advice/tips about.
Whether it's an experience we've overcome, a passion we can't stop talking about, or expertise we've developed over time.
You don't need special knowledge, profession, or education to build a successful business.
I have 0 diploma/degrees... I left school when I was 18.
And I generate today 80k month based on my experience and the tips I used to love sharing about my own business story.
It all comes from the authenticity and passion we bring to the table.
With the mindset of serving, rather than selling.
You're helping a specific group of people achieve a specific transformation/result/goal/state/feeling/lifestyle.
You do this through mini digital files offers and printable that people can download and use to learn something new or improve their lifestyle or surroundings.
So your niche isn't a product type or a product format.
Your niche is the way you help a specific group of people achieve a specific transformation.
Imagine then all the content you can put out there, and all the products you can create and sell from there.
And the impact you can make from what you already know... by helping others.
- Finance?
- Business?
- Relationships?
- Health?
- Events planning?
- A craft?
- Fitness?
- Pet?
...
Tom also shared that he worked in the IT consultancy space for 10 years and helped 100's of companies implement SaaS based products as he knows the industry inside out - but doesn't know how to create a successful brand and sell using Etsy and social media content.
He mentioned that he wants a plan that helps him get from A to B quicker than if he was doing it on his own. And that's exactly what I do.
He also asked me what format the plan comes in, so I thought sharing it here:
The plan is a chronological roadmap made of clear tasks to implement and actions to take. I tell you everything you need to do and know based on your niche, audience, and the market.
Your plan is intense. But simple to follow.
He also asked how much support is offered once the plan has been sent through and ongoing after the plan ends?
All along, and beyond. UNTIL you reach your £30k month goal.
